Tips to build your confidence in signing contracts for your intellectual property.
From My Experience
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked as a contract administrator for the State of Colorado. During this time I learned a lot about contracts, who signs them contract, who writes them, and how to determine who is responsible for what. I also learned why it was so important to explain exactly who, when, and how the items in the contract would be delivered or executed.
As An Author
I have signed many contracts. I have hired editors, cover artists, website designers, and I’ve even signed the rights to publish one of my books. Even before I was a contract administrator, I knew the importance of understanding such legal binding documents. The only problem was, I didn’t know who or even how to ask the questions I had concerning the contracts I was signing.
I am here to help you be more confident with contracts dealing with your intellectual property.
I am NOT a lawyer.
I am not giving legal advice. I am offering you my experience in the do’s and don’ts of contract writing and execution. I offer this to you because knowledge is power and too often authors and other creatives are taken advantage of by signing legal documents they don’t understand.
As a Writing Coach
I am offering a free contract tip sheet for authors. This tip sheet is a high level overview of one of the classes that I offer on my website. Download the tip sheet today and you will be notified via email when my contract class is available for purchase on my website.
I’m so excited to share this knowledge with you. It is something I wish I had when I was starting out in the literary industry. Remember, you can receive more customized publishing advice (NOT legal advice) by signing up for a free 30 minute consultation below.
