DACIA M ARNOLD:

Champion of Creative Community

Dacia M Arnold brings together people, ideas, and opportunities prioritizing belonging over networking. Whether she’s coaching an author through their first launch, building a marketing strategy for a growing business, or connecting two people who needed to find each other, her work is rooted in relationship first. Dacia believes the most powerful strategy any brand or creator can do is show up as a real person. She’s spent her career demonstrating exactly what that looks like.

A Foundation Built on Resilience and Service

Resilience isn’t a personality trait for Dacia. Working in Baghdad ER meant making fast, consequential decisions with incomplete information and no margin for error. The pressure of saving lives never left her. The experience helped her to realize the fragility of life and the importance of treating each person as a human rather than an injury or diagnosis. This standard has perpetuated in Dacia’s work through subsequent deployments and the transition to civilian work.

Stateside, Dacia carried the same standard into government work, first in contract administration, then as an Alternate COVID Site Coordinator for the Colorado Department of Public Safety during the height of the pandemic response. The stakes shifted, but the requirement stayed: keep things moving when the system is under strain. She coordinated across health partners, procurement directors, and state controllers to maintain compliance and accountability while the rules were being written in real time. Her work of identifying barriers and seeking out the people who could make a change only strengthened her belief in the power of genuine connection.

An Accomplished Writer and Storyteller

Dacia’s writing journey is both personal and profound. Initially, she began writing as a way to process her military experiences, a therapeutic outlet that eventually blossomed into a thriving career as an author. Since 2018, she has published two novels, three novellas, a short story collection, a writer’s workbook, and many short stories including an article for The New York Times, earning accolades and recognition for her vivid storytelling and ability to connect with readers on a deep emotional level.

Her writing spans genres, from science fiction to creative nonfiction, reflecting her ability to adapt her voice and style to suit diverse audiences. Dacia’s personal essays, drawn from her rich life experiences, resonate with authenticity and insight, making her a sought-after voice in both the literary and professional worlds.

Empowering Writers with Expertise

Dacia has spent years translating hard-won experience into something other people can actually use. Through workshops, conference presentations, articles, and her consulting firm, she brings publishing industry knowledge and marketing strategy to the communities most underserved by both: independent authors, small business owners, and creative entrepreneurs who are building something real without a roadmap.

Her approach is less about instruction and more about empowering people with what brought them to the work in the first place. Dacia’s role is to make sure fear fear of the unknown never becomes louder than the reason they started their business or wrote their book in the first place.

A Strategic Visionary in Business and Marketing

Dacia’s marketing work is built on genuine understanding of what a brand is trying to say and who needs to hear the message. She has led multi-channel campaigns, developed content strategies, and managed SEO performance across industries ranging from healthcare to manufacturing to tech, not by applying a universal formula, but by learning what makes each client distinct and building from there.

Her deepest area of expertise is the publishing industry. As a marketing strategist for independent authors and a publishing operations consultant, she understands the full lifecycle of a book and the business behind bringing one into the world. She knows what drives discoverability, what builds a loyal readership, and where most authors leave opportunity on the table.

Her background in storytelling is the edge most strategists don’t have. Where others see raw numbers and data, Dacia instantly translates KPIs into a story with a clear beginning, a problem, and a direction forward. Numbers tell her what the audience is doing, why momentum is building or stalling, and where the next move should land. For authors and publishers building something worth finding, she knows how to translate seemingly unrelated information into action and make sure the right people find the right story at the right time.

A Vision for the Future

Everything Dacia has built points toward the same thing: a publishing world where independent voices have real infrastructure behind them.
The Morrigan Indie Bookseller is the most visible expression of this vision. Named for the Celtic goddess of fate and sovereignty, The Morrigan exists to reclaim the human relationship between a story and the person searching to experience. Just as quietly as the industry gave way to impersonal consumerism, The Morrigan Indie Bookseller will rebuild these connections one store and story at a time.

But the vision doesn’t stop at a single publisher or storefront. Dacia is actively building a co-operative model connecting independent presses and indie booksellers, creating shared infrastructure, collective buying power, and a network strong enough to compete with the the status quo. The goal is a publishing ecosystem where small operations don’t have to choose between their integrity to produce human-made work and their survival.

The thread of genuine connection runs through all of her work: from the authors she has championed, to the communities she has helped build, to the business she is growing. Dacia believes the future of storytelling belongs to the people willing to protect the space where stories live.

She has spent her career becoming someone qualified to champion the indie publishing industry.
