Update: Amazon Canceled Orders

Update: Amazon Canceled Orders

It was brought to my attention that every single pre-ordered paperback copy of Apparent Power ordered through Amazon was canceled.

First, I want to reassure everyone that there is nothing wrong. Apparent Power will be available for sale through all major book retailers, to include Amazon, on December 11th. I also want everyone to know this is not the first time they have canceled orders for the same book. Back in August, some of my very first preorders for Apparent Power were canceled as well.

This is a blessing in disguise…

This gives my readers the opportunity to really make a difference in the ways of Amazon Rankings. Sort of a way to laugh in the face of adversity (something I have gotten very good at the last couple of weeks).

Starting December 1st I’m giving away $10 everyday until the release of Apparent Power. Each day will be a new contest giving you 12 interactive prompts to enter and win. On December 11th, contest entries will go to people who re-order their paperback on this specific day. No big pushes for paperback sales will happen between now and then, so mark your calendars to order your paperback copy of Apparent Power on December 11th, then bring your confirmation screen shot over to the APPARENT POWER FACEBOOK PAGE to submit your entry. Two winners will be chosen on this day. Both will receive a $10 Amazon gift card AND a signed copy of Reactance.

Why did Amazon cancel your order?

In publishing, there are two release dates. An earlier date is offered for book distributors like Barnes & Noble, libraries, etc to order the books and have them available on the shelf for the day of the public release date. Amazon listed the paperback version of Apparent Power as for sale to the public on November 1st (the distributor date). Hot new books then attract scalpers. Just like scalpers for event tickets. So, when November 1st rolled around and no books were sold, those scalpers went ahead and listed my book for sale on their sight thinking they would receive it any day. Now that my books looks like it is ACTIVELY for sale through another retailer, Amazon thinks it missed the train and by default, canceled the product they did not receive two weeks after they were supposed to sell it. Thank you Scalpers.

Am I angry?
Nope. This hiccup does not define the amazing story I cannot wait to share with the world. It does not negate the beautiful reviews the novel has received so far, and it does not make me less of an author.

Do you want to help?

If you are one of my advanced readers, Amazon is now allowing reviews to be posted on the book. Be sure to include *I received a free digital copy of Apparent Power from the publisher and this is my honest review*

Invite your friends to follow Apparent Power on Facebook so they’ll know when the daily giveaways start! Christmas is around the corner, and it is an easy way to get some extra money.

Please reach out if you have any questions. My publisher, Immortal Works Press, is also soon offering incentives to those who had their order canceled. Sometimes I feel like setbacks mean I am on the right path. Otherwise, it would be easy and everyone would do it.

Thank you all for your loyalty. I write because of you.
