Migration Announcement

Twitter, FaceBook, Blog, ChapterBuzz… I am constantly engaging in some way or another. Add school, reading, guest blogs, and trying to finish my second novel. I feel like you all deserve better from me.

This is my job. It is the profession that I chose and I would not change it for the world, but I also want to give you QUALITY vs quantity.

So, I decided this month to start my Patreon page. This way, I can give more focus to my main projects and give exclusive looks behind the scenes of making a major novel. It is kind of like Netflix, but for writing. Like a documentary of my career as it actually unfolds. (CLICK HERE TO CHECK IT OUT!!!)

How does it work:

It’s a subscription. Like a magazine online, written by me. And YOU pick your price! At each Tier of support, you unlock bigger rewards!

  • $1 Level: You get a weekly newsletter AND You get your name in the acknowledgements of MY BOOK!
  • $5 Level: You get the same as above BUT you also get a good ole fashioned Thank You card from me in the mail. <3
  • $10 Level: All the things in the first two levels but you also get A backstage pass for Works in Progress. These first looks might include story snippets, playlists, character interviews, scenes written from alternate POVs, prologues, epilogues, character notes, etc.
  • $20 Level: EVERYTHING above AND a free digital download copy of my novel when it is released in December!!
  • $30 Level: EVERYTHING above AND a personally signed copy of my latest book when it is available in December, straight from my house to yours.

There are also BIG prizes for everyone when I reach monthly goals!

  • $100 Goal: When we reach a monthly goal of $100, I will release a brand new short fiction story to Patrons in ALL tiers! This is a short story that runs alongside Apparent Power.
  • $500 Goal: When we reach a monthly goal of $500, I will host a forum where my readers inspire the story! All levels of contribution can weigh in on the theme, genre, setting and much more. Levels 3+ will have characters named after them!
  • $1,000 Goal: When we reach a monthly goal of $1,000, I will host live Q and A for all Levels. This will also include an exclusive look at scenes cut from the final draft of Apparent Power.

I also offer services on this platform. For my fellow writers, you can commission me to critique a query letter and synopsis in preparation for the ever-daunting search for representation. I have done this for free in the past; however, until I can figure out how to add an extra hour to my day, I have limited this to only 2 people a month.

For my nonwriter friends, you can commission your own short story. You have creative control and I do all the work! Do you have a family story you’d like immortalized? Want to pass on a legacy to future generations? Or maybe you’d like a story starring your children. I can’t think of a better present for those you love. With the care that goes into the art of writing, I have limited this to only 1 a month.

As we get closer to the launch of APPARENT POWER (I’m excited. You’re excited… but it’s still 7+ months away), there are costs that come up in the ways of marketing. Marketing materials and a nice stock of books for the HUGE launch party in December, all have upfront costs.

Through Patreon, I can continue producing quality material in a smaller far more intimate platform. I feel, as a writer and an artist in that regard, it gives me a safe place to bear my heart through my work.

Thank you, all for being amazing. I still have a ton going on outside of Patreon. This month I have 3 guest blog posts on 3 different sites!!

The first just published this week on Stephen Kozeniewski’s blog Manuscripts Burn (HERE) about writing female military characters.

On May 16th, I have provided content for the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writer’s Blog (Here) about Writer’s Guilt.

And on May 29th, I will be featured on The Writing Pal (HERE) with a blog about mastering the art of Flash Fiction.

You can still catch me on FaceBook and Twitter! As always THANK YOU for your amazing encouragement and support in simply reading.
