After seeing the big buzz of about it’s release all over social media, I picked up this book by fellow Immortal Works Author, Aften Brooks Szymanski. Disclaimer: I am NOT a gamer, but the fact did not hold back my understanding as Szymanski is very articulate and able to explain these concepts in a way I could easily grasp.

The story follows a teenage girl through an AI simulation. The only difference between her and the other players is that she lacks any identifiable coding or memory of who she is and how she got there.

You follow the character through different levels of this AI simulation each level grows more difficult and in turn is increasingly stressful. Szymanski weaves a world that no one can take at face value. With an unreliable narrator this journey through the simulation has nothing but high stakes every step of the way.

I gave this book 4.5 stars because it was truly a page turner but very stressful to the very end.

Cheat Code is available on all major book platforms, including Amazon.
